Well its an open primary, and without a competitive Dem race, you can expect lots of Dems to vote in it too...

Of course. It wouldn't necessarily have to be Palin. Whomever the weakest Republican candidate would be.

Huckabee.  And for what it's worth, the Republican South Carolina winner has always been the nominee.  By "always" I mean the 5 times it was a contest.
