Because the ACLU hates conservatives?

I didn't know Arabs were allowed martyr complexes; I thought that was reserved solely to the Jews.

The Nazi's were quite Right-Wing. They had a fetish for war, had unrepentant Militaristic tendencies, used Christianity to give Hitler a prophet like status among the German people, abhors dissension from the Government's leadership, and of course supported torture of their enemies. Arguably the same Nativist Theocratic nonsense spouted out from today's modern Right. Conservative? No. Right-Wing? Absolutely.

This, quite hard. I've no doubt States will moan about Germany's economic interventionism, conveniently forgetting that, until historically recently (that is, until the early 20th century), the interventionist Right was just as strong, if not stronger, as the liberal Right -- Alexander Hamilton was, in his day, an economic interventionist and a defender of feudalistic mercantilism.

So was stalin a right winger?

So was von Bismarck a left-winger?

Of course, StatesRights has no idea who Otto von Bismarck was, so we ought to give him time enough to go to Wikipedia and see.

Yeah good thing left wing governments never do that kind of thing.

It's almost sad to see that you've degenerated to this level, deadsy. Have you by chance looked at the German voter rolls from the era? If so, you'd know that upwards of 50% of all NSDAP voters came originally from the DNVP, an explicitly conservative Party.

You could get off this hook by simply admitting that right-wing-ism != free-marketism. But oh, such would be so difficult for you.

The Nazis were nationalists and religious, therefore they were right-wing.

If you count neo-Paganism as the "right-wing" religion, perhaps.

Agreed there. The Nazi's weren't religious at all. They didn't want anybody to challenge Hitler's God-like status, so the best way to do that was to destroy religion.

No.

- National Labour Day speech, May 1 1933

Hitler himself was probably irreligious - which is not the same as atheism. But to deny that he appealed heavily to German Christiandom is absurd.
