SC Rep. Nikki Haley. Recently endorsed by Romney and Jenny Sanford. If she becomes Governor of SC, could she be a VP pick?

If by "dark horse" you mean "really attractive horse"

How else is she noteworthy?

I doubt it, as everyone will want to look away from the fallout from Palin's nomination in 2008.

A thread about "An EXTREMELY Dark Horse VP Pick" 2½ years out isn't likely to be real useful.

I'm not interested in vetting for the GOP, I'm just asking what her likelihood could be. Thanks for the commentary though...

Although she could have potential for a VP spot if she was Governor, but at that point it wouldnt be a dark horse.  When it comes to Governors, I dont see any as a dark horse, regardless of how short or long they have served in that office.

I do love looking for possible dark horse candidates though... but I mainly search former federal agency directors, cabinet secretarys, and members of the House.
