I assume Detroit? $900.

If it was around here, it'd be at least 100 times that.

Nope. Newburgh, NY.

That's funny. I've actually spent a couple of days there in Newburgh. I don't remember seeing any houses that looked like that. Just looking at Zillow, the deviation in prices in some neighborhoods of Newburgh is insane.

So how much did it cost? I assume that the land itself is not that hot; Newburgh is a long way from Manhattan.

It'd be a few thousand dollars here. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the price in NY were enough for a decent house in a nice neighborhood here (about 100,000).

No clue. Wish I knew, this is the type of house I'd like to buy. I'd probably open a venue in it, it would be a great place for bands to play.

Looks like the sort of house you might get for free or $500 around St. Louis.  But it would be hard to operate anything in most neighborhoods of that sort, both because of the robberies/attacks/vandalism, and because no one would go there to see a show.

And because it's structually unsound. You can't endanger the public by operating a facility in a building that is likely to collapse.

Good point, not to mention that the authorities would be particularly looking to shut down such a hippy place.  They hate that sort of thing.
