IIRC, Dutch soldiers have a union.  However, no, US troops are not allowed to form a union, nor should they.

There is a federation of police in the UK which I suppose is similar to a union, though strikes are banned. I don't know if the military has one, but I doubt strikes would be legal in any military union even if they did exist.

There's plenty of police unions in the US too.

     Though they are banned from striking as well. With that said, they get around it with a bout of the "blue flu".

lol. Most soldiers (and, I'm guessing, members of the other branches as well) do not give a fuck about politics, and many who do are Democrats. The military is not the Republican cesspool some liberals assume, even among the combat troops. (as a gun bunny, I should know!)

My unit is deploying to Afghan in April, relieving the 101st...
