I think that I shall emulate
Winfield's magnificent timeline
and create a timeline featuring the illustrious deeds of an obvious author surrogate.

I'm not sure if this new tendency to appeal to the apparent inherent evil of Xahar in all things even remotely related to forum policing or this damn game is especially helpful.

Just be sure to follow the great model set by author:
Quote from: President Thomas E. Dewey on March 21, 2010, 04:52:09 pm
Senator Benson Rockefeller, Republican, New York, holds a press conference.
Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for coming here today.
This nation, as you know, is going downhill quickly, in spite of my best efforts to reverse that trend. This nation lacks any firm leadership and vision from either the Executive branch or from the Legislative branch.
I have therefore decided, after much soul searching, to accept the offer that I have received from the United Nations to become the new Secretary General of the United Nations. My appointment takes place effective one week from today.
The Security Council and the General Assembly have already approved my appointment. They were just waiting for my confirmation and acceptance.
I have met with the Security Council just two days ago, and they have told me that they would very much like for me to contribute my abilities as a peace maker and a conciliator to the world stage.
They note that since I have already brought peace to Northern Ireland, and had, as Secretary of State, brought a decade long peace to the Middle East, and of bringing an honorable end to the Vietnam War, also when I was Secretary of State, they would like me to bring the same skills in bringing peace again to the Middle East and to other trouble spots around the world.
The United Nations has as well asked that I work toward ending world hunger.
The very generous offer from the United Nations, and the prospects of bringing peace to this troubled world, and of bringing an end to hunger around the world, was a responsibility I simply could not turn down.
I therefore leave my responsibilities as a United States Senator to assume my new responsibilities as the world's chief diplomat.
I shall not let the world down. I shall accomplish the mission to which I have been asked to undertake.
My new Senate Chief of Staff, Condoleezza Rice, will be joining me at the United Nations as my Chief of Staff there.
Thank you for your attendance here today.
The members of the press were visibly moved, most all with tears in their eyes, and some weeping openly.
With that, Benson Rockefeller embarks on his new career as the world's chief diplomat, and with a firm commitment to bring about world peace and to end world hunger.
But that is a story for another day.
For this day, the eyes of the entire world are on Benson Rockefeller, and with him in this new role, the hope for the future rests with him, and now the prospects for the future well being of the world have never looked brighter.
The next day, newspaper headlines across the world proclaim:
BENSON ROCKEFELLER TAKES UP NEW ROLE AS HEAD OF UNITED NATIONS
FUTURE OF WORLD IN GOOD HANDS WITH BENSON ROCKEFELLER
BENSON ROCKEFELLER VOWS TO BRING WORLD PEACE AND ERADICATE WORLD HUNGER
WORLD WISHES BENSON ROCKEFELLER WELL IN NEW ROLE AS SECRETARY GENERAL OF U.N.
BENSON ROCKEFELLER OFFERS NEW HOPE TO A TROUBLED WORLD

Thanks, I take that as a signature
And I abstained from any comment for long, wanting to see if you can create something interesting.
Don't know what is the problem. After your 1996 alternate timeline I have a right, as a humble reader, to expect something worthy.

Imran Begum was born on October 31, 1929 at Dhaka. His parents were Sylheti, but had moved to the big city in search of opportunity. Imran proved that they had made the right choice, rising quickly up the academic ladder. In his teens, however, his progress stopped, as the war disrupted normal life. His experiences in this time caused Imran to become a firm believer in peace and to do everything to further this end.
In 1945, at the end of the war, Imran was admitted to Dhaka University, from which he graduated
magna cum laude
with a degree in history and economics. It was while he was an undergraduate student that India was split, an act which he protested to no avail. Upon his graduation, Imran recieved job offers from all over Bengal, but he elected to stay at the University and pursue a graduate degree.
In February of 1952, it was announced that Urdu would be the sole language of Pakistan. This was met with large protests, as Pakistan was majority-Bengali, and Imran was at the forefront. He organized the Bengali Students' Association (বাঙালী ছাত্রদের দল,
Bangali Chhatroder Dôl
, BCD) to protest the Government's actions, and then called a strike which crippled the Universities. Others followed in sympathy with the students, and before long East Pakistan had become all but ungovernable. In late February the Army came into Dhaka and imprisoned Imran, who was in their custody for three days. When he escaped, he made a radio address on behalf of the BCD calling for mass resistance to the Pakistani Army.
Initially, the Pakistani Government attempted to solve the problem by force, but they soon realized that the whole population was behind Begum and the BCD and that force was thus useless. Finally, in April of 1953, the government capitulated to his demands, and agreed to hold free elections. Imran knew that he could win with the BCD, as the majority of the population was in the East, but he also knew that governing with only half the nation would lead to the same evils that the Western-led government had perpetuated, though his intentions might be better. As a result, Imran created the Socialist Party (সমাজতান্ত্রিক দল,
Shomôjtôntrik Dôl
, SD). The Socialist Party won in a landslide, as voters in both East and West were impressed by Imran Begum's intelligence, sincerity, and determination. Imran Begum became Prime Minister.
Now that he had power, Imran knew how to use it; he opened up negotiationis with Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, and before the end of 1953 the Partition of India had ended. Imran himself joined the Indian National Congress and became Chief Minister of East Bengal. Here he saw that the evils of Partition had not yet ended, and he began negotiations once again. Once again they were fruitful, and in 1955 the states of West Bengal, East Bengal and Tripura came together to form the united state of Bengal, of which Imran Begum was Chief Minister. The people of India through an electoral college showed in 1957 their gratitude by electing Imran the President of India.
To be continued...
