He and Rubio are clearly pro-amnesty liberals. From what I hear, anyone opposed to this law is.

Really? Comparing it to a government that rounded up and killed millions of its own people on the basis of religion and then starting a war that killed 50 million people?

Hitler and Nazi comparisons just make one look stupid.

I disagree with how I think the law will be enforced, but comparing it to Nazi Germany is just ridiculous.

Hitler and Nazi comparisons just make one look stupid.

Only when they're thrown around with no reason.  Connie Mack's comparison makes perfect sense.  I take anything Holocaust related extremely seriously, but I can't find anything inappropriate about what he said.  It is reminiscent of the kinds of things Germany started implementing during that time and that's what we should be upset about.

Sounds like a typical opportunistic slime politician showing concern for his own political ambitions. What Arizona does is not the business of a Florida congressman.

"This law of 'frontier justice' – where law enforcement officials are required to stop anyone based on 'reasonable suspicion' that they may be in the country illegally – is reminiscent of a time during World War II when the Gestapo in Germany stopped people on the street and asked for their papers without probable cause,"

Doesn't seem that karazee, and it's a constrained comparison, he's not comparing it to the Holocaust.

I think it's hilarious how tea partiers can be so paranoid about big government but be completely comfortable with it being illegal to not carry proof of citizenship or legal residency any moment a police officer may suspect something of you.

What Arizona is doing is the business of every American, especially one in the government.  Also note that Connie Mack has refused the opportunity for higher office.  But please continue with your character assassination, it still won't take away from the fact that what he said is true.

That's not quite true.  He was thinking about running for the Senate before Crist made it clear to him that he was running and then Mack got out of the way and endorsed him.

Mack's probably kicking himself for not challenging Crist from the right the way Rubio did when he had the chance (Rubio's also come out against the law).

I think there's a really sane, small-government argument against this law.

But the law doesn't require them to stop anybody.  In fact, they have to already be interacting with the person.

Haven't you heard that it's hip for "libertarians" to hate immigrants now?

Oh so the Republicans don't like being called Nazis when they support a policy that's vaguely similar to Nazi Germany's Identification Paper law.   Hey reactionaries, remember when you were complaining about Death Panels and called Obama a Nazi.  Was that different?  No.

Nope, one comparison makes some sense and one doesn't. This actually does mirror Nazi policy, HCR doesn't in any way. Trying to deport people en masse is something that is very authoritarian and is something that should be compared to fascism because it is fascist in nature. A big chunk of the supporters of the AZ law support it because they despise illegal immigrants. They don't consider illegal immigrants to be people but a plague or group of barbarous invaders on the country that should be removed. This rhetoric is gigantic in my state. You can't convince me that that isn't disgusting.

For the most part, I hate stupid comments like this but this is different. Deportations are almost always terrible events that should never have to take place.

Amusingly, he already is on a sort of list, "enemies of the forum". Wonder how long before this account goes the same fate as his others. How many does that make it now, something like 6 or 7 I think...

I'm not who you think but I do find it amusing that this forum can't enforce it's own borders and you complain yet don't care that your country can't and instead encourage it.

I find it amusing that you think you can compare an internet forum to a nation and a profie to a person's life.
