How many times (if any) have you called 911?

Ball-park.  Stories are always fun.  I'm curious if my count is atypical or not.

Maybe 4 or 5 times on my cell phone, reporting vehicle or grass fires.

I called 911 once when I was about 6 or so, didn't say anything, and hung up. About five minutes later my parents came to scold me for calling 911 for no reason.

I also once insisted someone else call 911 while I was having a particularly bad acid trip but they refused. Instead we brought in a dog and everything turned out fine.

This is how sad my life has been.

A few over the years.......I remember riding on I99 to State College for a job and it was very late, dark and nasty out............there was literally a truck bumper covering half of the left and right lanes..........almost hit it.   

But no stories that are bizarre or crazy.  I'm interested in the reasoning behind Alcon's post though....tell us tell us.

I worked security for four years in the dorms when I was in college, so a few times.  Sexual assault and alcohol poisoning are the ones I remember best.

I was 5 and my brother was pretending to be dead and I picked up the phone and dialed 911 then I hung up. (I forgot it was plugged in.) then the police called and then I got into an argument with the police that the police were my Grandparents or not.

Probably about half-a-dozen times. It's usually to report suspicious behavior -- when I lived in an apartment, it was close to a strip mall, and the first time I ever called was because of some kids vandalizing a store at 2:00 am. I also remember calling when I was in an apartment to report someone breaking into cars. We'd had a lot of break-ins, and that was a time where I'd leave for work at 4:00 am -- when I was leaving one morning, I came across someone dressed in all black who got startled when they saw me and ran behind a dumpster, then into an alley.

The last time I called was because there was a car accident on the highway about 100 yards from my house.

The most serious time I had to call 911 was when I was driving on I-70 and had a panic attack -- first time I'd ever had a full-blown one, too. My arms and hands locked up (to the point where I couldn't get my hands off the steering wheel), my face went numb and I hyperventilated. I managed to get one hand peeled off of the steering wheel, knuckled "911" on my phone and managed to tell them where I was. I had no idea what was happening at the time ... a highway patrolman showed up first, then an ambulance. I sat with them for about 30 minutes and then was good to go.

Probably double digits. I hear a lot of gunshots in my neighborhood.

Twice not counting just reporting gunshots. One was a report of sexual assault in my apartment back in Mankato, the other was when I found someone intoxicated and passed out at a bus stop in front of my apartment here.

Basically they told me "Well, the only thing wrong with you in that you're retarded enough to drink no water, never sleep, take your psych pills sporadically, and imbibe neverending caffeine." lol Oh the responsibility College brings!
