I'm confused, there was also a southern state's rights candidate in 1952? Could you post percentages for the national presidential vote?

With the election now over, President Elect Eisenhower needed to choose his cabinet. Eisenhower believed that a cooperative cabinet would be essential in fixing the country and getting things accomplished. For his Secretary of State, the main cabinet position, Eisenhower choose one of his supporters and Endorsers, Governor Adali E. Stevenson of Illinois.

The rest of the cabinet was  chosen with Democrats and two republicans which was believed to be a wise decision on Eisenhower’s part. Eisenhower’s cabinet:

Secretary of State: Adali E. Stevenson

Secretary of Treasury: George M. Humphrey

Secretary of Defense: Richard Russell

Secretary of Justice: Potter Stewart

Postmaster General: Arthur E. Summerfield

Secretary of The Interior: Robert S. Kerr

Secretary of Agriculture: Ezra Taft Benson

Secretary of Commerce: Ernest McFarland

Secretary of Labor: James Mitchell

Secretary of Housing: John Sparkman

The Cabinet was wisely chosen by Eisenhower. The only controversial pick was Russell as the Secretary of Defense, but Eisenhower took up for Russell “The man is a good choice for the job. He believes in a strong defense and that’s what the country need sat the moment. All the picks were approved by Congress.

With the Cabinet choose, Eisenhower had to wait until January 20th to become the President, but will Dewey steal the spotlight?
