This timeline will not be a day-to-day timeline but will list out the election results from 1960-2010. There are 435 Members of Parliament (MPs), and in order to achieve majority status, a party needs 218 seats. If one party does not win 218, the party with the MOST seats may form a coalition government. The party with the second most seats (opposition party) may form a "Shadow government." Each current House District is a Parliamentary seat district. Each state's MPs choose a member of the Senate.

Before posting election results for elections from 1960-2008, I will post a description of each major Parliamentary party.

Major Parties:
Liberal- Centre-left party, popular with union households, working class families, and liberals, African Americans, Hispanics, Jews, Italians, especially those in the Northeast, Midwest, and California. Support gov't intervention to help poor/middle classes, civil rights, diplomacy over war, and universal health care.

Conservative- Centre-right party, popular in suburbs, upper-class areas, some Hispanics/Asians. Popular in suburban parts of Northeast such as Connecticut/New Hampshire, lower Midwest such as Missouri and Nebraska, parts of Southwest such as Arizona and New Mexico, and suburban areas outside of southern cities such as New Orleans and Atlanta. Supports strong national defense, economic policies that foster growth from top down, civil rights, and tax breaks for lower classes and upper classes alike.

Christian Alliance- Far-right party, popular in rural areas and highly religious regions in Bible Belt, mostly Protestants (Evangelical/Southern Baptist), and some African Americans. Strongly oppose abortion, gay marriage, and stem-cell research. Ambiguous on foreign policy and economic policy. Popular in areas such as Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, etc.

Reform and Progress- (Commonly referred to as the RPP) Far-left party, focused mainly on environmental issues. Support peace over war, wealth distribution, gay marriage, and civil rights. Popular among college-students and in states such as Vermont and parts of large cities such as New York and San Francisco.

American Unionist- Centrist party popular mainly with farmers in the Midwest and elderly people in states such as Florida and Pennsylvania.

Minor Parties:
Alaska National/u]- Party advocating Alaska as its own country.

Farmers- Mostly outdated party arguing for mainly agrarian American society.

Second Amendment- Party supporting gun-rights, hunting rights.

Hawaii National- Party advocating Hawaii as its own country.

American Socialist- Party supporting socialist policies.

Ok I will change the colors. And in this timeline, the Green Party was able to come about in America because of the partisanship available in a parliamentary system. Suspend your disbelief Smiley thanks!!! Will post next few election cycles soon. Tell me what u think!

I appreciate all of the comments!

Firstly,  I changed the mathematical errors, sorry!
Secondly, the system was developed after too much gridlock took place in the first few Congresses.
Thirdly, the head of state is known as the Chief of the States but is commonly referred to as the President. This elected official is a figure-head who travels around the nation to promote people's interests, as well as travel abroad. The President is technically in charge of the armed-forces, but legislation passed in the early 60s gives the Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary, and Defense Secretary main control over the military. Hope that's everything!

1968 Parliamentary Election:

Dissatisfaction with the Liberals' handling of the Vietnam War is expected to cost the Liberals many seats, possibly the majority. The Reform and Progress Party is promoting itself as the "anti-war party for progressives," and the Christian Party is calling itself the "anti-war party for conservatives."

Candidates
Prime Minister Eugene McCarthy, Liberal (MN)
MP Nelson Rockefeller, Conservative (NY)
MP Ronald Reagan, Christian (CA)
MP Harold Stassen, American Unionist (MA)
MP Jimmy Carter, Reform and Progress (GA)

Liberal    215 seats                       -28*
Conservative 135 seats               +8
Christian   51 seats                 +21
Reform and Progress 30 seats   +15
American Unionist 4 seats        -16**

*Because the Liberals had the most seats but failed to reach a majority of 218, the Liberal Party formed a coalition government with the Reform and Progress Party. Eugene McCarthy remains PM, and MP Jimmy Carter is now Deputy PM.

**American Unionist MP Harold Stassen violated several election laws causing his party's name to be invalidated in certain constituencies

How would  I even be able to create such a map. Are there maps of all 435 House Districts? Or did you want a map of the Chief of States race bc that race is done by popular vote not electoral vote.

I will be making such changes in the next few election cycles.

Breaking News:
Liberal MP Nick Begich has died. A special election is held on March 1, 1973.

Candidates
Pegge Begich, Liberal
Don Young, Conservative
[Christian did not run a candidate as a courtesy to Conservative]
John Coghill, American Unionist
[Reform and Progress did not run a candidate as a courtesy to Liberal]
Bettye Davis, Alaska National

Results
Alaska National 30.4%
Conservative     28.9%
Liberal               26.2%
American Unionist 14.5%

This is the first time that a member of the Alaska National Party has been elected to the United States Parliament. This is a major embarrassment to the Conservative Party. The Cons were favored to win this seat by political pundits.

1972-1976 PM Gerald Ford's Term:

Major Happenings
- Christian Party and DPM John Schmitz threaten to start a coalition with the Liberal Party unless PM Ford ends War in Vietnam. Troops pull out in late 1973. Conservative MPs angry with Ford that he backed down to Christian demands.
- Reform and Progress Party stages protests outside of schools in south that have yet to be desegregated. On May 5, 1974, a major riot takes place in Jackson, MS resulting in the death of 57 African Americans and supporters of desegregation, 19 police officers, and 7 supporters of segregation. A Black MP from the Conservative Party MP and African American Parren James Mitchell of Maryland switches his alliance to the Reform and Progress party, backing a Liberal-RP coalition.

More to come!

Continuation of PM Ford's Term

- PM Ford's coalition passes strict national laws banning recreational drugs such as marijuana, mushrooms, LSD, etc.

- Inflation continues to rise to unprecedented levels. Liberal Spokesperson Eugene McCarthy says that the "do-nothing" policies of the Conservative-Christian alliance will "drive America's economy so far into the ground that we will discover domestic oil!" This speech sticks with the American people, and many begin to protest outside of the Conservative headquarters in Washington DC.

-Christian MPs designed a piece of legislation which would require buyers of contraception to be at least 18 years of age. They threaten to join the Liberal-RP coalition if the Conservative do not support this law. Reluctantly, Conservatives vote for the American Families Act, and this law is passed. Americans across the country are shocked. Reform and Progress Spokesperson Shirley Chisolm said that the Christian Party is aiming to "Christianize America, one household at a time. And the Conservative Party is allowing this extremist take over to happen." PM Ford makes a speech to the American people essentially apologizing for this vote that his party was forced to make.
