I will laugh so hard when Newt Gingrich ends up the GOP 2012 nominee.

If Huck didn't have the clemency scandal, he would very well be the 2012 nom.
Most popular with woman, the young and surprisingly popular with liberals (as well as conservatives in the south)
Add Gingrich who is the only credible candidate the vs Romney in the west loved by the old (the ones that actually vote) and the far right as well as experienced and seasoned, that would be a good ticket.

But it’s not going to happen

As someone that currently plans to vote for Obama in 2012, I wouldn't. Unlike the rest of the current GOP crop, Gingrich is actually a very intelligent person with enough smarts to run a decent campaign. It would be hard to paint him as an out of touch imbecile, unlike Huckabee or Palin. That being said, there's enough baggage there to beat him, but running against Gingrich certainly wouldn't be a walk in the park.

Romney is the only way I'm voting GOP. Gingrich I would consider considering he is intelligent. I would never vote for Huckabee or Palin or Paul.

Romney is the right man for the job. He has the experience and the wisdom to make this country great again.

Newt Gingrich is very intelligent and would pulverise Obama on national defense, foreign policy, and national security. There maybe enough GOP candidates too that he could be the nominee. He's always backed out though. Maybe he's hiding something.

Preferable to Huckabee.

If Huckabee were the nominee, I'd probably vote for Obama.

Gingrich isn't running, and God help us all if Palin actually gets close to 20%.

I find the fight between these establishment so-cons a sad state of affairs for the GOP.

We have fine candidates. Don't let the other party discourage you my fellow conservatives.

Just about all of the serious GOP candidates are highly intelligent.  Gingrich, Mitt Romney ... Huckabee is also very smart (evil, but smart - like Obama).

The only one whose intelligence is questionable is Palin.  Gary Johnson was probably smart before, you know ...

I'm not inclined to agree that either Mike Huckabee or Mitt Romney could be considered intelligent in comparison to other political counterparts.

I would love to see Chris Christie run for President in 2012.  This guy is the best speaker the Republicans have had since Reagan.
