For one reason or another, Wes Clark wins a convincing victory in Iowa during the 2004 primaries, then proceeds to sweep the Midwest and Rust Belt.

After a tough primary fight, General Clark wins the nomination and selects Senator John McCain, who recently switched parties, as his running mate.

Negative ads by the Clark campaign focus around the heroic actions of Clark and McCain while pushing Bush's questionable military career.  Notably, in the final week of the campaign Secretary of State Colin Powell endorsed Clark for President.

So...the contest is:

President George W. Bush (R-TX)/Vice President Richard B. Cheney (R-WY)

vs.

General Wesley K. Clark (D-AR)/Senator John S. McCain (D-AZ)

Discuss, with maps.

So a lack of knowledge means I'm not welcome here? I've always wondered why there's a lack of Republicans on this forum and now I'm beginning to see why.

Clark/McCain-325 EV
Bush Jr./Cheney-213 EV

Florida could go either way.

McCain wouldn't have been the VP because he was wanting to run in 2008 again. If it had been then it would've been a Bush/Cheney landslide. What has Clark shown that is presidential? Furthermore, I will be posting a map at work on Monday when I'm on the other computer because this one doesn't work. Bush would have about 384 EV.  Those of you who think Clark had it in him to win a national can keep dreaming.

McCain's staff approached John Kerry about being on the Democratic ticket in 2004.

What has Clark shown that is presidential?

Hm...He led the collective army of the developed world as the Supreme Commander of NATO...

What has your neo-con hero Bush shown that is presidential?

Clark has a Silver Star, a Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars, four Legion of Merit Awards, and four stars on his shoulder.

While George Bush was flying planes over Texas and snorting coke, Clark was having AK-47 bullets removed from his thigh and McCain was refusing special treat in Vietnam.

What has Clark done that isn't presidential?

I'm not expecting an answer; you always make a fool of yourself and then proceed to back down from criticism of your stupid comments.

Yes and he would have been tied to Clinton and be portrayed as a do nothing candidate on terrorism. What did he do in the US military command wise? Alot of people think NATO is silly. As for McCain, he was a hero, but would've waited until 2008 to be on a ticket in order to build a GOP base for the primary. I don't dislike Wesley Clark, but think he'd do terrible as a nominee. He's not well known either and his running mate would've likely been Hillary Clinton. Alot of people would've seen Clark as respectable but not presidential.

You've declined to say what your neo-con hero Bush has done to be presidential (pre-2000, of course).

I don't think using your daddy's power to dodge the draft is very presidential.

I think going to West Point and being a Rhodes Scholar, then going to Vietnam as an officer and continuing to fight even as blood comes out of four holes in your body is very Presidential.

Bush did not dodge the draft. That was Clinton. Bush served as a part time pilot in the Texas Air National Guard. It's easy to say that Bush did that without any evidence. Remember what happened to Dan Rather when he tried to do what you're doing. He proposed the false document that was dated 1972 but typed in Microsoft which wasn't around until 1975.

http://

Something like that and again McCain would've never been on the ticket.
