I actually would have liked Humphrey. Some of his ideas remind ppl of Ronald Reagan actually. What a difference 4 years can make in a party's base.

Humphrey, because I dislike the whole Kenendy clan, becasue Humphrey had a lot of experience, and because he was pretty electable.

Humphrey was good, but the primary voters wanted someone other than Johnson or Humphrey, it's a shame the party bosses did not listen.

Who could the party bosses have picked who was also electable?

All of them re great IMO, so it would be hard to choose. However, I guess I'd eventually pick RFK.

I wish that we could vote more than once. The only way that I would support a republican in 1968 is if it were Reagan. I would have supported Johnson, both Kennedys, and Humphrey.

Reagan and all those Democrats were at the opposite ends of the political spectrum. What gives?

McCarthy

Anti-war, anti-LBJ, anti-communist, anti-globalist, a believer in social justice, and a devout Catholic to boot.

McCarthy is really the only person I could have supported with enthusiasm in 1968.

McCarthy

Anti-war, anti-LBJ, anti-communist, anti-globalist, a believer in social justice, and a devout Catholic to boot.

McCarthy was actually closer to being a true communist than LBJ.

what? Just because you're anti war doesn't mean you're anti communist.

I'd go for RFK, because he was probably the most moderate and acceptable of the four. Next would probably be Humphrey because of Civil Rights.
