Maps, please. And explanations.

         294-244, me.
I would do very well good with minorities, but in OH and PA I wouldn't do good with the working class.

If I was the Democratic candidate...

538 - 0 to my opponent, due to the birthers actually being right in my case.

If we assume I'm magically transplanted to the United States and given retroactive natural citizenship and some generic accent...

This is probably the absolute best I could do, given a fairly poor opponent. 284-254, I scrape out a victory while quite probably losing the popular vote. Ohio and Pennsylvania would be subject to fraud conspiracy theories from the Republicans for years to come.

This is a best case scenario, I'm far too much of a politically incorrect asshole to do any better than this.

I'd say this is probably the absolutly best case scenario for me. My views on Unions probably wouldn't go over well with the rust belt, and my sexuality wouldn't go over well with 80% of the country.

I'd pass myself off as Catholic if I was running for president. I'd still get owned though. I'd probably perform decently out west but I'd do poorly everywhere else.

Terribly.

1. I'm a libertarian, and for some reason the nation seems opposed to that concept
2. I'm from Wyoming.

Hm, I think I'd be decent, as I would come across as moderate, but still would appeal to social conservatives.

I would allow the Democrats to have an electoral landslide, unless by some weird turn of events the Republican Party endorses me rather than choosing their own candidate.

Best case scenario for me. I'd pick Jbrase to shore in some southern states and emphasize how much I love Tennessee.

That'd be a really bad idea, once some right-wing muckracker finds no parish has your baptism or confirmation/conversion records.

Not well, even in a best case and I'd kill any chance the GOP had.

I guess if the Pubby candidate was a total dude like Palin I might do even better in a few places or send a few more purple states to the Dems.

I'd be too elitist and latte-liberal to win working-class votes there.

Isn't Massachusetts portrayed as the latte-liberal elitist heaven (Yes, I know it's a dumb conservative cliché, but well... Tongue) ?

Rhode Island and Massachusetts actually have quite a few of the working class Democrats, especially compared with the rest of New England. That was the main reason that Hillary carried those two states, given Obama's infamous struggles with those primary voters back then.

edit: my map would look like this, sans New Mexico New Hampshire and maybe a few more states.

I'd pass myself off as Catholic if I was running for president. I'd still get owned though. I'd probably perform decently out west but I'd do poorly everywhere else.

I'd stick with my old Presbyterianism then. It probably wouldn't affect the election much.
