Now that he's announced his run with that video and all, go.

(Neutral, I'll see if he actually reforms New York when he's elected)

Mixed. Anyway, I'll probably be voting for him, not that he needs my support.

Neutral. I like his father, so we'll see. A potential Democrat I could see myself voting for in the future, though.

Neutral.

We'll have to see if he can live up to the hype of his last name before I can call him an "FF" or an "HP".

You consider David Paterson an "American Hero"?

No, no, Spitzer, his predecessor as AG.

Though Paterson is pretty under-rated.

I don't know enough about him. He seems competent. Whether or not he has a sociopathic side remains to be seen, since he will soon be governor. I hope his ego is not so large, that he abuses his power, flying too close to the sun, and melting.

Being governor these days is a big deal; lots of tough choices to make with grave policy implications. You can't just dial it anymore. States are on the fiscal edge or over it. Granted, New York has more margin for error than most of the other big states. Among other things, its real estate values in NYC metro have not tanked nearly as much as in most places, and Wall Street always seems to just keep going and going, along with advertising.

You think if he makes a good governor he'd have a good shot at winning the Presidency in '16?
I hope he doesn't turn out like his dad and shirk his opportunity at winning the big seat if it comes. Mario would've made a good President if he ran and won in '92.

I think he would have a good shot assuming the economy doesn't slip into another recession right before the 2016 election and assuming Hillary doesn't run that year. And I agree with what you said about Mario. At least he would have gotten healthcare reform passed, unlike Clinton who blew the greatest opportunity to reform healthcare in 20 years and thus caused the GOP to recapture Congress in 1994.

Did you knowingly steal that line from Spitzer?

No, from Greek mythology actually (Icarus and all of that stuff).  Smiley
