BushOK - Tuesday is June 1, 2010 which means it will be the very, very beginning of my Christmas thoughts. It will be time, for me anyway, to start thinking about plans for Christmas 2010, our first Holiday Season together!! I'm not going to go all out on Christmas for a couple months, yet, but I will start thinking about it. Smiley

As long as he doesn't start putting up the decorations before Labor Day, it wouldn't be grounds for justifiable homicide to be thinking about Christmas this early.

Have you ever seen one of those year-round Christmas stores?  I have a feeling that BushOK keeps all of them in business through the first 9 months of the year.

So that'll start the 5 month countdown until the next time I remember Christmas exists.

I haven't even got to my birthday yet. I just went through 3 in the past month and a half, lol.

Oh Bushie... if I didn't know any better, I might think you have a genuine diagnosable mental condition that involves obsession with routines and planning OCD.

Not that I have a problem with it.. I love holidays and get in the mood for them... though I must admit my yearning for Christmas outside of a few miserably hot days in July or the first snowfall... I leave it until after Thanksgiving.  (And yes, the first snowfall here is almost invariably LOOOONG before Thanksgiving)

I start planning for Xmas about 11:50 pm on Dec 25, and "celebrate" for the remaining 10 minutes. It makes my life easier. And this business of shopping for stuff, rubbing shoulders with hordes of people, strikes me as quite nutter. It is very odd behavior indeed to my little brain.

They've got a year-round Christmas store "North Pole City" just about a mile north east of the OKC Airport, although I only go in there once a year in late October or early November.  The first store I frequent while preparing for Christmas is Hobby Lobby as they will get their Pumpkins and Christmas Trees and other decorations out right after they put up their Fourth of July stuff.  We're about 5-6 weeks from Hobby Lobby gets out their Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas items.  The Christmas aisle isn't very big in middle July, but it grows as we get into August and is almost full blown in September.  Then, in September, I start watching other stores such as Wal-Mart and other department stores such as JC Penney, Kohl's, and such to see Christmas clothing and other Christmas decorations come out, though I usually have to wait until early October to see Wal-Mart getting into the act.  They seem to wait later and later each year and then they put their Christmas stuff away around December 10 and replace them with Valentine's Day merchandise.

Quite, seeing such a title in the end of May is quite depressing, and yes disturbing.

Why in God's name would someone document when they start thinking about something?

It's way too early to starting thinking about Christmas. Heck, we're still closer in time to last year's Christmas than this year's Christmas.

Don't you celebrate Hanukkah?

Kinda, but I also celebrate Christmas, which all Americans celebrate (or are supposed to celebrate) regardless of religion.

Accepted once I logged on this morning. Went there first and saw it and recognised you from your picture.
