Though I don't expect an endorsement from your party, I will leave myself open to any questions you may want to ask me on the Convention floor.
I would actually like to echo this. We, in all likelihood, will not get endorsed from you, but I think we share some game reform positions enough to deserve some proper consideration and questioning,

I
will not
be running for reelection as Secretary. Instead, perhaps quixotically, I intend to challenge Libertas for the position of Whip.

While I won't comment on the dubious motives of a certain individual
again
trying to sow discord in the midst of what is supposed to be a unifying event, I would like to remind the members of this party of my record as party whip for when the time comes for them to cast their ballots.
I was a founding member of the Populares, working with the few remaining members of the ARC to give rise to a new and improved party from the ruins of its predecessor. I have worked hard to make this party what it is. I designed the party logo and created the wiki page and, working with other members, implemented the bylaws by which this party is governed. It was by my suggestion that we have our conventions every two months, and by my insistence that we have other titles such as Secretary in the first place, to give more people a chance to be active in party affairs.
As Whip, I made recruitment and a high rate of activity important goals for our party. Our party has since grown in leaps and bounds, from being on the brink of extinction just a few short months ago, to being the vibrant and expanding party it is today. We have since won control of a regional legislature, picked up a governor's mansion, and won two senate seats.
The whip plays a critical role in bringing about such success. It is not a meaningless title or joke position to be used to make a political statement.
I believe I am the clear candidate of experience, having served not only as the Whip of this party during it's rapid ascension into a serious national contender, but also as Northeast Representative, Lieutenant Governor, and currently, as a Senator-at-large of Atlasia.
I honestly have no idea what my opponent's grievances with my leadership are; I can only conclude that his decision to run is rooted in irrational personal hatred for me.
Therefore I would like to once again ask my fellow Populares for another term as Whip, to ensure the continued success of this great party and all of its members.

Motives? Libertas, you make it sound as though I have some hidden sinister agenda. No, I simply want to help move the party forward, something I can barely do at all in my current post. I want to see the party succeed - nothing more, nothing less.
While it is true that Libertas has undeniable experience within this party, the Populares cannot rely on that forever. All things change, and parties such as ours must be one of them. The Popular Party must continually morph and adapt to be taken at all seriously by Atlasian voters, though that must never mean abandoning our belief in liberty.
I appreciate our current Whip's service to Atlasia and to the party; I honestly do, despite the countless disagreements we constantly have. However, I believe that Libertas' tenure has begun to create a particularly unfortunate face for the party. He is undeniably one of our most vocal members, and arguably one of the more aggressive as well. In my eyes, he displays a hostility and unwillingness to bend that reflects very poorly on the rest of our membership - I honestly feel that he has, unwittingly, made us all look like a fringe group of radicals. While the pursuit of liberty and freedom is a golden cause, and one that is eternally worth fighting for, there should be a very clear line drawn between passion and extremism.
I love this party and I stand for its beliefs, and yes, I will acknowledge that if not for Libertas, I would have never become active in our politics. But I believe it's time for a change - it is time to adapt, and progress. My challenge to him is in no way rooted in the undeniable tension the two of us may exhibit towards each other; it is based in a desire to see this party truly flourish, and to see our message be at least accepted by voters of all ideologies.
My fellow Populares, vote me in as your next Whip, and I will do all in my power to make this party truly shine.
