First precinct in from Nevada (Elko County)... Angle ahead of Lowden by a 10-vote margin. None of These Candidates in second place behind Reid, 56-19.

Lincoln won the first round there 52-40.  Halter is from there, of course.

The two big counties in NW Arkansas (Benton (Bentonville) & Washington (Fayetteville)) are totally out.  How did they vote the last time?

Lincoln won both.  Benton by a lot.  Washington by the same as Pulaski, which is why I posted the above prediction many pages back.

Thanks.  I suspect the University of Arkansas is out of session, which could lead to lower turnout if the students were still there for the first election.   That could hurt Halter even more in Washington County.

AP hasn't called it yet, but I'm pretty sure Noem will win in South Dakota.  What's out seems to be largely Pennington County (Rapid City) and various small counties largely on Indian reservations.  So far, Noem is winning Pennington and surrounding counties and there aren't many Republicans on the reservations.  Noem should hold on.

Good.

HAHHAAHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA

http://www.wciv.com/news/stories/0610/744075.html

The SC Democrats just nominated an unemployed military vet who had no signs, no money and no website, and hadn't been seen since he filed.

BAHAHAHAHHAAAAAA. PATHETIC.
He doesn't even have a website! WTF?

I suspect it was case of people voting against Vic Rawl and not caring who his opponent was.  In either case, they were going to lose, so it doesn't bother me too much.

Was Rawl unpopular or something. I had a friend working on his campaign and he's truly in shock. DeMint will win in a walk now.

Mind you, it stands to reason that an area dominated by a certain retail company is won in the primary by the candidate partially owned by said retail company.

Kind of makes me a little sick to my stomach, since I'm a 'Boys fan, but he is much better than the alternative and Adler.

New Jersey update... rich people suck. Diane Gooch is looking likely to lose in NJ-06, while John Aslanian lost big in NJ-09.

The unions just spent 10 million bucks against Lincoln in order to try to intimidate Dem "moderates" to toe the Pelosi/Obama line (not that I consider Lincoln a moderate, but just like most Arkansans, not into unions) proving that they are relatively toothless.  I wonder where else they can be induced to waste their money?  Maybe Crist?

Riches spending lots of money to win the primaries in races where they have no chance in the general. So no it doesn't really matter.

Angle is supposed to dominate in the Cow counties, but Elko is heavily Mormon, which maybe distinguishes it a bit - maybe.  Tark if he has any hope, depends on Clark.

I think Hooker Counties is a better description than Cow Counties. (Though granted I'm sure there are far more hookers in Clark than those places.)

Crap, this looks like an epic fail by Arkansas Democrats. How many of these guys are total DINOs? They appear to be voting for a right-winger who will lose in November over a not quite so right-winger who has a chance in November.

I think just a couple of near empty counties are hooker counties. Smiley

Pretty much. Gooch is some kind of newspaper publisher, and I have no idea what Aslanian does. Between the two of them, they spent $450k of their own money.

It's Arkansas.  There was probably a certain contingent of the voters that took offense to the fact that the national Dems and these organizations were trying to tell them how to vote and, therefore voted, reflexively for Blanche even though they don't particularly like her.  Southerners do that sort of thing - which no one seems to understand except those who've lived there.  Tongue

Also, don't underestimate Bill Clinton repeating this message in his own way to those voters as only he can.

I wouldn't necessarily read too much into this elsewhere.

Hmmmm, I heard there was a teabagger running as a Democrat against him. Not surprised if he failed to make the ballot though.

Pallone's likely Republican opponent does have "Tea Party Approved" on her website though, so he gets to kick a teabagger's ass regardless.

Well Runyan got the nomination in NJ-03. I guess that, per RowanBrandon's earlier statement, it might be worth watching it in November.
