Working with the Attorney General and the Department of Homeland Security to try to get them to prosecute and punish people on his behalf just doesn't seem like free speech to me...

He is a CPA, and understands numbers, and actually cares about fiscal matters, and does not reflexively vote for every spending measure that hits his desk. He is also less PC than the bulk of his fellows in Congress from California. His district by the way, has a somewhat moderate cast, Dem but not way out there.

By the way, I did not know about the Scientology bit, and you know what I think of that outfit.

Torie, if anything has been made clear from this flotilla attack, is that some brilliant and rational Americans leave their rationality at the door when it comes to defending Israel.  Israel can do a profoundly stupid thing, like shooting an American citizen four times in the head at close range on a humanitarian ship, but the fact that that ship was designed to undermine Israel's status automatically makes the soldier who shot the American four times in the head at close range the victim, and the dead American the aggressor.  

Imagine if Turkish troops had killed an American like that and destroyed the evidence?

How hard is it to say that the people on the ship may not be good guys, but Israel screwed up handling it?  Ernesto Arturo Miranda was not a good person, but the American government screwed up handling it.
