If yes, when do you think it'll be.

I doubt it. The British are in favor, are they not? And they don't affect the democratic process in any way really.....so I don't see any way they'd ever really be thrown out.

Would be fun.

Vive la République!

I'd be surprised so. Or on the very long term.

Yes, in several thousand years, when we will finally have a global govt. or be conquered by aliens. This question should be reworded to "Do ...abolsihed in the next 100 years?" because ever is a very long time.

It'd screw up the Commonwealth system too much.

First it will be abolished in Australia, then New Zealand, then Canada, then some smaller countries, then Britain.  I believe it will be completely abolished in the next 50-100 years.

I really want Elizabeth II to deny royal assent to some random, non-controversial legislation just to see what the reaction would be.

No institution lasts forever, but I don't see it being abolished during my lifetime, tho some additional Commonwealth countries are likely to become republics such as Australia and New Zealand, but the British Monarch will remain Head of State in Canada, the Caribbean island nations, and the (Dis)United Kingdom for some time to come.

Of course - once my plan for world domination comes to fruition, I'll have little choice but to end all other monarchies. I can't very well have anyone else claiming a title that could be perceived as being as grand as the ones I'll have, after all.

I had a discussion on when the Swedish monarchy would end with my father a few days ago. He said he believes Crown Princess Victoria will be the last monarch. To which I replied, that's what people used to say about this king, and before that they said it about his grandfather, and before that they even said it about his father, but the royal family has remained in place and still has an approval rating of 75-85%, so I think it'll remain for a couple of more generations.

And I think the same is true for the other constitutional monarchies out there.

I doubt it'd be abolished anywhere it is now, except for Jamaica, before Elizabeth II goes.  But when King Charles III ascends the throne, I think it'd be a whole different ballgame.  It would probably quickly be abolished in Australia, New Zealand, and many other Commonwealth countries.

Eventually.

It might be sooner than you think. It might be hundreds of years from now.

But they won't survive the extinction of mankind, so the poll answer is obvious.

I believe Barbados was also considering a republic recently.
