Will President Obama face any challenges in the 2012 primaries? If so, whom?

I want him beaten up in the primaries again. If there is a serious challenger to him and the GOP is decided by the time PA comes around, then I may switch parties just to cause chaos.

I sure hope so.  From Howard Dean, Dennis Kucinich, Hillary Clinton, anyone.

I hope 3 or 4 get in the race. All elections and primaries should be contested.

That's my motto exactly. Even the most popular of elected officials should be contested

Neither Bayh or Warner would try.  Bayh wants to be governor again and Warner is happy as Senator.  There is an off chance of Hillary doing it, but more like Dennis Kucinich.

Jeffrey Boss is running.

Ill vote for him if he's the only one running.  It will be interesting to see how many state ballots he can get on.

Nobody serious.  And I'm willing to bet that anybody who does won't even make it on the ballot in all of the states/D.C./territories.

Evan Bayh will never be president because of his vote on the health care bill. I know democrats aren't in touch with average Americans enough to understand but that health care bill will win the GOP every election until the bill is completely over turned. Bayh would have been president in 2012 had he voted against the bill and proposed one of his own. This will be exploited in every way imaginable against every democrat until it is over turned. I actually won't be surprised if the GOP picks up 13 in the senate and close to 100 in the House.

Right now most people are more concerned with the oil spill than the healthcare bill.

Greene from SC.  Whether he wins the 2010 Senate race or not.

Either that, or he will replace Larry King.

My preference for the Dem nomination in 2012 is Howard Dean, Dennis Kucinich, and then Obama.

Clearly the solution is to privatize presidential elections.

So, in less than four years, get excited for the 2016 MetLife Financial U Pick The Prez Extravaganza. If you tweet a picture of your completed ballot with the hashtag #ivoted, you could win a trip for two to the inauguration or an iTunes gift card.

RIGHT NOW is the key word. I see through Obama's scheme to slowly drag this out so that it is cleaned up just in time for the midterms but I'm not buying it and neither are the American people. That speech brought down his approval rating to 42%. The healthcare bill will not be forgotten the next time each voter goes to their doctor. If there's one thing to remember, an elephant never forgets.

If he does receive a primary challenge, it'll almost certainly come from the left.  Moderates do not upset sitting officials in primaries without a very big reason, and Democrats still generally like Obama enough to where this won't be an issue.

As to where from the Left it would come from, it's hard to tell.  He hasn't truly pissed off any significant segment of his base (but he's irritated almost all of them) to where they'd seriously consider running a candidate against him, but if one were to emerge, I'd say it's probably a Latino upset over immigration.  Gallup polls show his Hispanic approval numbers have dropped significantly since January, and immigration is the issue he's done the least on.

Though if that does emerge, all it will likely do is throw some ethnic tension into the Democrat party ranks--Hispanic Democrats tend to be very socially conservative, and the social liberals make up a large enough part of the Democrat base to protect Obama from that kind of challenge.  There's also the lack of Nationally prominent Hispanic politicians that could start with the kind of record Ted Kennedy did in 1980.

Assuming we get a "Hispanic Obama"--a minority who makes the big promises and speeches to a dissatisfied left, he'll be in serious trouble.  Baring that, he'll almost certainly be fine fro re-nomination.

Yeah that pissed me off last time when the only choices were McCain or Paul. Oh but of course, people in New Hampshire matter more than the 6th largest state and 2nd in the union. Douchebags.
