MN Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) is taking the next step toward a potential WH bid, launching affiliates of his national PAC that can hand out money to contenders running for state office in IA and NH.

The new PACs, affiliates of Pawlenty's Freedom First PAC, will be able to raise and spend money in their respective early nominating states. While Pawlenty still contends he's focused most on the '10 midterms, the state PACs are the latest in a series of forward-looking moves aimed at the WH'12 race.

Romney already has state PACs in both states as well.  None of the other potential 2012ers do, AFAIK.  Obviously, there's no point in setting up PACs in these two specific states unless you're running for president.

I'd say Pawlenty, Romney, and Johnson are already running.

So a lack of knowledge means I'm not welcome here? I've always wondered why there's a lack of Republicans on this forum and now I'm beginning to see why.

I'm not really surprised by this. Everyone knew he was running.

And this is why his approval ratings are plummeting. He's not even bothering to focus on governing.
