*banging head off wall*
I'll be a blunt as I can:
Sinn Féin are a political party.
The IRA are a defunct paramilitary organisation.
Political party =/= defunct paramilitary organisation.
Ergo, Sinn Féin [1] =/= the IRA.
Needless to say, no-one's denying that they were linked in the past, but you're better off looking at one of the Sinn Féin splinter parties if you want a bona fide terrorist link.
[1] In their present-day incarnation, at least, where they're a harmless left-wing nationalist party.

Wasn't there a report a few days ago that said that the British army did exactly the same in January 1972?

It reminds me of the DUP MPs responding to the findings of the Saville report. That was some impressive whataboutery right there.

My point is that there was no "good" and no "bad" side in the Troubles. If you condemn the IRA, you have to condemn all parties involved in the conflict.

I'm not sure if this new tendency to appeal to the apparent inherent evil of Xahar in all things even remotely related to forum policing or this damn game is especially helpful.

Yup.
The British have about a thousand years of oppression of various sorts in Ireland.

Exactly.
I do not fully support the IRA, and SF =/= the IRA. I think the modern policies of SF are what's needed. In particular, the re-unification of Ireland.
Frankly. I'd like to see both SF and the DUP happy. The re-unification of Ireland, and, a British Ulster. All of Ireland, in a Federal UK.

I don't care if they are happy, or if they wet the bed at night
I think it's the solution that would fix the most problems.

What problems would recolonizing Ireland fix?

You are far more likely to hear Irish-Americans claim that about the IRA's murders than anyone in Britain claim that about the above. Many Irish-Americans are downright disgusting.

I thought they favored illlegalizing homosexuality? Or maybe they don't emphasize it (along with anti-semitism) in order to win more votes.
