I mostly just reject the notion that those unable to labor and enjoy the fruits earned therefrom should automatically be left out to die or live life in miserable poverty or to sit around thankful that some guy with loads of money voluntarily gave them a peanut.

We are an advanced, rich society.  We can afford to *GIVE* the disabled a decent quality of life even if what they can contribute to society is minimal.

Genuine laziness should not be rewarded... but disabled people are rarely genuinely lazy and would give anything to be normal and work their butts off.
