Moynihan did have some ideological connections to the neocon movement. Early on he was associated with people like Irving Kristol, Jeane Kirkpatrick, and Norman Podhoretz, after all.

To call him a neocon would still be inaccurate (as is the case with most people who are called "neocons" on here).
