Gotta say, I don't know anything about the guy, but it's kinda depressing that it's a Barry Wong.

But S.I. Hayakawa was like an English language nationalist despite being a Canadian of Japanese descent, and he has some pretty awesome quotes from when he was a Senator.

Woah, here's to the land you've torn out the heart of,
Arizona, find yourself another country to be part of!

Do you mean legal residents only or illegal as well?

I guess proof of residency might be acceptable to this Barry Wong fellow too, so my thread title may be inaccurate

Why shouldn't non-citizens vote?

Why shouldn't non-citizens vote?

Because we shouldn't give power to people who have absolutely no stake in paying for the country and are here sucking big government's teet.

Those who provide false Social Security #'s actually pay those directly to  Uncle Sam, and they of course pay sales taxes.

I would love to pay only sales taxes, but I don't, unlike illegals.

Given illegal immigrants' levels of income, they would get more back in rebates than they paid in taxes if they paid income taxes. The country saves money by not having them getting rebates.

As Verily notes, most illegal immigrants would not be eligible for any sort of income tax.

And as I noted, those that falsify their social security information pay that tax, regardless of income, and don't ever receive that welfare later in life upon retirement.

Those who work for under the table cash, of course, would not be doing this

I wonder what the burden is of illegal immigrants on our education, welfare, and prison expenses compared to minimum-wage earning citizens.  Does anyone know?  Surely some segments of the citizen population pay more in taxes than they receive in services.
