Oh come now... I might be obsessed with the weather, but how could I ever compare to KSTP's own Dave Dahl?


Or KARE 11's Sven Sundgaard?


Apparently being Scandinavian is a prerequisite for being a weatherman here... we don't want no dirty Krauts given us the what for!

Northwestern Minnesota is where all the Norwegians live.  North Central is pretty Scandinavian but the entire town doesn't go to the ELCA Lutheran church.. but northeast is mostly Finnish, Italian, Polish, Croat, Russian, etc... at least on "da Range".. down by the "shore" they're mostly Swedes and Norwegians though there's hardly anybody there.  Probably because they get brutally long winters and then the summers are equally as cold.  Lake Superior is a quick lesson in instant hypothermia no matter the time of year.

You can easily determine the boundaries by whether the people tell you Ole and Lena (or alternatively Sven and Ole) jokes or if they're Eino and Toivo jokes.
