I have not examined the results of the NBC/Wall Street
Journal poll yet today, but that poll shows president Obama
with a 17% disapproval rating among Democrats.

I invite affiliated Democrats on the forum to either speculate
why the president's approval rating is so low among Democrats
or share, if you consider yourself among that 17%, why you
disapprove of the president's handling of his job.

Please also indicate if you think Democrats who currently
disapprove of the president would be likely in November,
2012 to either stay at home or vote for someone else.

Thanks.

A lot of Dems don't think he's gone far enough left. Their staying home will depend on the GOP nominee. No matter what Dems think about Obama they will crawl across broken glass to vote against Newt.

He certainly isn't far enough to the left.  Also, he has been a bit of a squawking chicken on the oil spill issue.  Calmly stating that you're "angry" about the situation doesn't actually clean any of the oil up.

Of course the Republicans will take the side of BP against the people whose livelihoods are now gone across most of the Gulf Coast (most of which probably voted for Republicans.. funny how that works)... so, Obama needs to quit being wishy washy and tell them to work more on getting their heads out of their butts and less on blaming the fact that it seems so dark on the Democrats.

I don't know if Obama has to literally be beat over the head with a wooden pole to figure out the fact that the GOP doesn't want to work with him.. but something needs to change.  Throw the GOP under the bus and watch them squirm and get all full of faux outrage and get their mob of fat middle aged white male slobs (who always seem to be pissed about something the librul left democRATS did) after the Democrats with their pitchforks and heated rhetoric.

Then we can have some satisfaction and watch as the rest of America rolls their eyes.  God there really is nothing more satisfying than watching Mitch McConnell and John Boehner get all chafed and red in the face because they're "mad as hell" (in that lispy, raspy dry tar-slicked voice of Boehner's) that Obama won't bend over backwards for the minority of Americans that support them.

The Republicans have made it clear that the politics of change and hope don't include them.  So dump them at the next dumpster and move on.

I don't disapprove, but I imagine a lot of Democrats are unsatisfied with our current economic situation and are frustrated with Congress about a whole host of issues.

And remember that 10% of Democrats voted for McCain.

Many registered Democrats are conservatives who voted for McCain who registered 15+ years ago when the Democrats still had an active Southern conservative element to it. Also, many Democrats are unhappy with the state of the economy and feel that Obama hasn't gone left enough (especially on healthcare and financial reform).

Not being far-right ≠ being "way left".
