Given that bin Laden is a religious fanatic who supports the execution of Jews and Homosexuals I think if he were to carry a state or two they'd be in the south. Certainly not California.

I just wanted to make a point that bin Laden is just as massively unpopular in the South as he is in the rest of the country. No way bin Laden wins anywhere in the South.

You gave me an idea: in a alternative history, the bin Laden family moved to California in the 1940s. Osama is now a Senator there, and is is running for President as an independent (he lost his bid for the Democratic nomination in 2004, so he changed his afilation to independent, much like Joe Lieberman).

I believed that you have confused the American South (one of the most most culturally rich and unique areas in the entire world) with western Texas, because no one in the South says "Yeee-haw"...
