Really?  What does this mean?

"The documents posted by Wikileaks reportedly cover a period of time from January 2004 to December 2009. On December 1, 2009, President Obama announced a new strategy with a substantial increase in resources for Afghanistan, and increased focus on al Qaeda and Taliban safe-havens in Pakistan, precisely because of the grave situation that had developed over several years."

Isn't it convenient how the leaks end right when Obama changes the strategy? Weird. Obama would have a point that we should blame this solely on Bush if he could show any results after the strategy change. As far as we know, the same things are going on in the region. The ISI is plotting with Al Qaeda to kill American soldiers while we sit around hoping and wishing the Pakistanis would help us. Can someone explain to me why we give aid to Pakistan instead of bombing them?

We're actually doing both of course.

Attacking a country with jet fighters and nuclear-tipped MRBMs is a swift way to get casualties that make Afghanistan look small.

We should start bombing a few madrasas in Peshawar and Quetta.
