Update.

Will give a chance for optimists who have previously posted on this thread to 'revise' their prior predictions in light of new data which will be available in a few hours.

are you talking about the revised Q2 GDP report?   It came in at 1.6%, and...

Q3: 2.4-3.7%, but I think it will be in the low end of that range

i think Q2 will be revised down to 1.5-2.1, but since July has seen improvement, I think Q3 will be better than Q2 unless August and September suck....my guess for Q3 is around 2.5-3.0

last I heard, 1.6 falls between 1.5 and 2.1...so I take it you're not talking to me

I'm going to quote you to save this.

So you believe that third quarter will be much stronger than second quarter, even though second quarter was lower than first quarter and first quarter was lower than fourth quarter of last year.

quote away..."Q3: 2.4-3.7%, but I think it will be in the low end of that range"

yo, CARL, hate to shake you up, yet again, but Q3 GDP came in at 2.5%....and, as always, you are free to quote me.

Growth was 2.4% in Q1 and 3.2% in Q2, so I guess somewhere between 2.5-3.0%.

BTW:

There was 3.2% GDP growth for Q3 2010 vs. Q3 2009.

Growth for Q2 was revised to 3.0% and Q1 stayed at 2.4%.
