Let's say that Gary Johnson manages to win the GOP nomination due to his fiscally conservative record and the social conservative vote split between socially conservative candidates like Sarah Palin and Haley Barbour. As an olive branch to traditional GOP conservatives, Johnson picks Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal as his running mate. Though some social conservatives are grumpy at Johnson's libertarianism, no third party candidate emerges to represent the social conservative wing of the GOP, and the GOP is, for the most part, united for the causes of fiscal conservatism (though there is disagreement on other core issues). Unemployment is still at a high of 9.7%, the Federal Government has lost against the fight against the Arizona Law, the GOP has taken the House and has reduced Democratic control of the Senate, and Obama's approval ratings are at 43%.

Discuss, with maps

MASSIVE Johnson landslide.

Also, Johnson received a 100% rating from the New Mexico Pro-Life organization thingy, so I doubt that his stance on social issues would be much a problem.
