Over the course of the entire election there have been two consensus I've heard.  One, nobody seemed to ever take Rasmussen seriously.  He was the only pollster who offered a new national poll every day.  His numbers never flucuated that much.  The other one was about Zogby.  The media has painted Zogby as a God in the polling world because of his accuracy in the 96 and 2000 presidential race.  But the people who following polling more closely, like the people on this forum, knew that Zogby wasn't all that.  Now Rasmussen did nailed the final national projection.  Zogby on the other hand came out with a strange tracking poll int he final 2 weeks and state polls that were just off the wall.  I'm wondering when the next election cycle rolls around if people will take Rasmussen a little more seriously since he did a good job with this race.  And I'm also wondering if Zogby has totally blown his credibility.

I trusted Rasmussen more this year than most. I'm glad I did.

Zogby I trusted not at all. I'm glad I did.

Next year, I will be including Strategic Vision polls just like they were non-partisan polls. Hopefully they will be able to become fully non-partisan by the next election.

SV was very good in some places, not quite in others. But they definitely had consistent numbers and seem to be positioned to be a very good firm.

Rasmussen did well, I would say most impressively at the state level. This definitely gives them a lot of credibility going forward.

What we see from them will depend on if they get any media buys.

I suspect those who used Zogby will be looking for someone new and with a decent reputation.  SV has established that while they work for Republican candidates, they are a good pollster who will not just shift their numbers for partisan purposes.

I agree about Strategic Vision polls.  The only state poll they seemed to miss on was Wisconsin.  Other than that, they were pretty much right on.
