But if he were President, he'd get elected on Friday and assassinated on Saturday.

With his previous track record of mismanaging or embezzling charity money, he is the perfect candidate for Haiti.  You need a continuity of leadership in crisis and he fits the centuries long tradition of kleptocracy.

It's hard to find something more depressing than Haitian politics.

Well the song says:

'I'd get elected on Friday
Assassinated on Saturday
Buried on Sunday
And go back to work on Monday'

He would be able to resurrect, that would be worse than expected. Tongue

It's only fair that a member of the minority zombie population finally gets to rise to the highest office.

Jean's been barred from running.

He's accepted the decision and urged his supporters to do likewise.

Oh, yes, I had heard about it a few days ago, forgotten to post it. Sometimes good news can come from Haiti...

Yeah, Haiti doesn't need sentimentalist politics anymore:

Would he really be such a downgrade compared to past presidents? The way people are reacting here you would think that until now Haiti has had competent and honest presidents.

Well, it's not because Haiti had a bad track record that it should become a pattern. Especially after what they knew in the last years.
