I'm in. In theory I'd be willing to GM, but with two caveats: in terms of screenshots etc it wouldn't be fancy because I'm not good with tech stuff and I don't have a camera. Secondly, is there a good way to do it online, because while I do have access to the game I lack a good area to keep it for what I presume would be a long, long time.

Oh, and I would much prefer to play if someone else wants to GM, but having piggy-backed on the selfless GM efforts of others for too long I'm not going to let Bacon King take the fall.

What the hell, I guess I will be GM then. Tell your friends so we can get a game underway. Bacon King has first pick of countries, Mikado second.

If we do vanilla I can use my board game, otherwise I'll use the software linked to here (hint, link to it please!)

Damn you Mikado. Never raise a kid. I just lost many, many hours of my precious life on that abomination.

Anyway, it's perfectly doable using that setup. Unless I download tweaks China is included in that version of the game (but obviously isn't much of a player) and there are no national benefits .

I'm not sufficiently geeky that I can tell which versions are which. The computer version did seem to list China as its own power with their turn in between Britain and Japan. One could still let the Americans play them I suppose.

The computer one is definitely not the one I've played, anyway. It has weirdo stuff like Germany's capital being Eastern Germany, a territory not even existing in my game and lots of neutral countries having their own little armies that one can attack for unclear gains.

The WWII one is workable, imo, even if it has weird components.

I'm open to downloading the real map though, obviously.

If you follow Mikado's link above you can simply download the game and see the map. Mikado, if you have a link to the real map would you mind linking that?

What do you mean? It's a team game, so obviously. Or do you mean one player having a team for himself? If we don't get enough people and someone is willing I suppose we could let some take more than one team.

Don't forget the Junkie fellow above.

Dang! How did I do that...

My sincere apologies to Junkie, you're very welcome to participate. Well, then, we actually need only one more.

Don't worry about it.  Totally in.  Followed the link above and saw the maps.  Trying to figure out how playing the game would work?

Well, basically, I think you would send in orders to me and I would execute them. You would have to do contingency plans I suppose, for various possible outcomes. At least, I think that is the simplest and most manageable way of doing it.

Hm, here is the reason why I was sceptical to hosting - my tech disabilities. I'm not getting it to work. I can download all right, but then I can't run it in the game. I get error messages when I try.

I think sending PMs to me might be the best way to execute orders, since you might not want to make your contingency plans public.

But I only count 4 players so far, so either we get one more or someone has to take two powers (depending on version we pick).

And I need to get this ing download to work! Grr...*

*I'm pretty sure it is something stupid missing as well. There usually is.

And yet again I'm proven right. Do not ask me what was wrong, for I will never tell.

Maps are up and running. I propose classic (World War II revised) simply because it is only 5 players. But if anyone thinks differently I don't really mind though.

So, anyone willing to take two nations? If we do classic, I believe US and UK traditionally go together.

In revised US would control China (duh) and Germany Italy I suppose. Then I guess US would be UK too. Likewise for the standard TripleA.

Any takers? You will get to pick teams in order of registering in the thread, so I have:

Bacon King
Mikado
A-Bob
Junkie

Why don't you guys vote on what version we're doing?

1. TripleA
2. Classic
3. Anniversary

Well, unless someone objects I want to get this show on the road, so I will do US and UK until someone else steps in. Is everyone ok with that? Junkie, you can go ahead and send in Soviet's orders. I can probably enlist someone else to as well. Bob would you be interested in playing for a little while at least?
