I may get my ass kicked...but I shall never surrender. You can take the home islands when you pry them from my cold dead hands.

Japan moved carriers to save their planes and mobilized a lot of tanks in Manchuria as well as a transport fleet and infantry in Japan.
It is now the US! You have 44 PUs.

Also, I've discovered that the software has a built in thing where it announces when someone reaches 9 victory cities (at the end of a round). I'm going to have that as a standard - no one is ever going to bounce back from that anyway. If people want to surrender they can, but I hope the Allies carry on for at least another round. I wouldn't say that it's necessarily completely over and hopeless yet.

So, some quick stats at what is typically an Axis high-point in the turn-cycle:
In battles so far the Allies has lost a net 96 IPC
(Allies numbers first)
Production: 95 v 71
PUs: 102 v 72
Units: 90 v 92
Total Unit Value: 553 v 590
Victory cities: 5 v 7
At the second Axis peak:
Production: 91 v 75
PUs: 100 v 75
Units: 81 v 84
Total Unit Value: 464 v 543
Victory cities: 5 v 7
So, basically the Axis have improved on all counts. It is also notable that despite everyone building new troops the carnage has reduced forces quite a bit on both sides (but especially on the Allied side).
At the third Axis peak:
Production: 86 v 80
PUs: 98 v 82
Units: 83 v 86
Total Unit Value: 442 v 583
Victory cities: 4 v 8
Basically, slow but steady Axis progress. Although it should be noted that that's mostly what one would expect during the early rounds.

The American air force attacked Norway, killing half of the defenders but being wiped out in the process. Naval and air forces were gathered off the West coast and the tanks in the East moved West.
It is now Soviet's turn! You have 24 PUs.

I think the fate of the Allies will be decided by what the Soviet Union does this turn, and the luck of the dice.

Stalin was ready to gamble. His back was against the wall and it was time to strike back. Attack orders went out simultaneously to Russian units around the entire front. That an attack was to be directed against Ukraine came as no surprise to the divisions around Stalingrad. But when they found out that their entire tank support was to be sent to India they were less pleased.
At the end of day the Russians succeeded. India, Karelia, Ukraine and Archangelsk all fell into Allied hands in a fell swoop. After mobilization of new units they could only await the German counter-move.
It is now Germany's turn! You have 47 PUs.
