Atlasian National Flag Proposals

I'll probably make a couple more. This flag represents...:

1. Red and White Stripes represent ther USA, and the five regions.

2. Navy Area represents the sea, or people from overseas; the two areas come together tpo form Atlasia.

3. The black lines represent the History and the Future of Atlasia.

4. The star represents the districts, and Unity between Americans and Rest Of The World-ers, and it's colour (white) represents Peaceful relationships.

5. The yellow field represents friendship, as yellow is the colour of friendship. It also represents th prosperity that comes when we work together.

I really like this one

Just a note: I'd probably have the black lines a bit thicker. My sister made it for me b/c i'm hopeless on paint from a sketch i gave her.

I think if we create our own flag that we start from scratch.

I think we need green and yellow and maybe black in the flag. It would represent diversity.

It's kind of a balance issue - with the stars "weighing down" the opposite side from the flagpole.

It's traditional tho in vexillology to have complicated stuff tending towards the hoist edge instead of the fly edge as you have Don.  There's a very practical reason for doing so.  The fly edge does the heaving flapping so it isn't as durable and thus a flag lasts longer if such stuff is towards the hoist.  Both the Hermit and hughento designs would probably look better if they followed traditional heraldic color practice and kept red and blue from touching  If instead of three red and two white, their designs used three white and two red stripes.  It's the same reason why on all of the variants of the US flag over the years, the canton extends over an odd number of stripes so that there is a white stripe below the blue canton.

I prefer Don's original flag, but the switch is alright. Whilst I do prefer the classic hoist-side, it looks better on the fly side.

Nah. Our flag doesn't need to be a big representation of everyone. Anyway, I always thought red, white, and blue stood for Liberty, Justice, the American Dream, baseball, or whatever other three abstract concepts are in vogue.

Don's flag is all part of secret conspiracy to set up a dictatorship in Nyman.  He says that the big star is supposed to represent Dave, but it really represents the fact that the five regions will have to kowtow to the Federal fatcats once we're fooled into adopting it.  Then to seal our fate, they'll put a gold fringe on it and make us all subject to admiralty law!

No, the flag actually shows the red silent communist minority on the sidelines having already taken over two regions and half of another, and thus half of all of Atlasia, ready to spring and devour the blue bourgeoisie.  Htmldon was a communist radical all along!
