They're imposing "regime change" on the series of tubes!  I think this is because of their surge among Gen X . . .

Twitter is an evil force for conservatism/fascism. No sane leftist should ever become involved with it.

Twitter is rather strange in that it's a new technology used primarily by olds. I can't think of another example of this phenomonom.

They're imposing "regime change" on the series of tubes!  I think this is because of their surge among Gen X . . .

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0810/41278.html

reasonably interesting article.  there are facts.  (a sequence of them, by the way, and not a series.  there's a difference.  look it up.)  I think it's mostly bullshit.  Not that it's false, because it's real.  In the same way that the sight, stench, and feel of a heap of freshly-produced ungulate evacuate is real.  But it's just like that:  something to be noted, with caution, and then stepped over.

Then again, I don't do twitter.  And I am the quintessence of Generation X.  The phrase was coined the year I graduated from College to describe those just graduating from college.  We're arrogant and shallow.  Too young to care about the social mistakes of our hippie parents and too old to get hung up on social causes.  Nor do I care much for facebook.  (I'd like to claim that I don't do facebook either, but the truth is that I have at least seven accounts.  I keep creating them, usually for the purpose of looking at pictures of friends who are either too lazy or too stupid to actually send me digital photos of their children, and then I forget my username and/or password and have to create another facebook persona to go in and look at the next one who sends me to facebook.  So I'll just admit that I don't much care for facebook.)  But any time you read that so-and-so has x-million twits or y-million facies, just remember that most of them are redundant, since most twits, I suspect, are like most facies:  folks who have as many accounts as they have visits to those idiotic sites, owing either to a lack of sobriety, or perhaps malice, or, more likely, general forgetfulness.

As for McCain, he's about as lousy a Republican candidate as I can image.  Twits and tweets and geeks aside, this is the guy that managed to lose Indiana, after all.  He certainly didn't win my vote in the general election last time.  I managed to find the lever to vote for the other guy no matter how many piles of dung I had to step over to find it.

Gee, you mean people aren't interested in a site specifically designed for uber-attention whores who honestly believe other people really care about what TV show they are currently watching or what they are currently cooking for dinner? Most Twitter users make BushOklahoma look introverted. My point about "I am walking to the grocery store now" type posts was hyperbole, but on Twitter it's a reality.

Twitter contains far more genius that people give it credit for.  Taking a complex thought down to 140 characters is a work of art.
