It's kind of weird when you think of it. People often assume only whites do, but that's actually not true upon closer inspection. There are lots of Hispanics in places where they are the only ones that live like El Paso, TX and even outside of there (see EMD) and Asians aren't uncommon, I see them at shows. But not blacks. Even in places like DC and Detroit. I remember seeing a video of a show in Detroit and everyone in it was white.

I saw a couple of black guys at a Warp Tour a few years ago, but yeah, they're pretty rare at shows.  I've never seen the obvious skinhead at a punk show either, but I hear they exist (and have certainly seen them in videos and such).  Guys like that probably aren't helping bringing more brothers to the shows.

Oddly, there are a few black skateboarders.

Are there even any bands with black people, that aren't rap/hip-hop garbage?

The vast majority of skinheads are NOT Nazis: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skinheads_Against_Racial_Prejudice

Skinhead culture kind of died out in the 90s though.

Two emo ones I can think of: Yaphet Kotto and Ten Grand.

There's Bloc Party, which is considered indie.

BRTD look up POS. He's from Minneapolis and is influenced by scene bands. He mentions Fugazi in one of his songs.

There's definitely a few blacks that listen to scene music. They just aren't common.

I've never listened to them and had no idea he was in a hardcore band.
