Torie, plenty of people have said or "implied" it here before. Having a thread like this is asking for it. Considering the things he has said you can only come to one conclusion. What opebo does over there bothers me a lot more then what some anonymous poster on the internet says to another anonymous poster.

I think what has confused many of the simpler type of reader (and thinker) on this forum is the disconnect between my political positions and my personal preferences.  I support various freedoms without having the slightest desire to pursue them myself - such as consuming heroin, or playing about in the fashion with which our dear StateRights is so obsessed.

In practice, fellows, if you care to know, now that I'm old, I find I'm happiest spending time with a lady of around 25-35, if she's fit and slim, and hasn't yet given birth.  Strange but true.. though of course a little younger or a little older is no big deal, as its only for an hour or so.

What I think is interesting is the vociferousness and unreasonableness of the attacks against me here - what is behind them?  I'll leave that to you gentlemen to consider.  I suppose it is the prudish Judeo-christian way, finding hedonism a horror, or perhaps just a kind of envy.  In most parts of the world the idea that old men would be more attracted to women of university age rather than haggards their own age is obvious to everyone - perhaps not so in the USA, strange place that it is.  Perhaps it is the attachment to monogamy that seems to ingrained in many americans.. where does that come from?  The idea seems alien and bizarre to me now, and I think most Asians would find it a bit strange as well.

States, you really should do some travelling.  I know that Asian women probably look very young to you coming from the land of behemoths as you do, but they're simply slim and generally not that big overall.  You might see a 25 year old and jump to some erroneous conclusions in your emotional state.  The fact is that anyone under 20 being on the game here is very very rare, and in any case the few that do so have nothing to do with foreigners.  (remember 99% of the sexual affairs of a more-or-less mercenary nature are Thai to Thai, not Thai to foreigner).  I would urge you not to accept wikipedia as your source for all knowledge - come have a visit.  Check it out.  Its a very pleasant and relaxed place, for the most part, with far lower unemployment and less 'desperation' strangely enough (due to the low cost of living), than back in your depression-land.

No, the way I portray Thailand is the same way nearly all expatriates portray it, as well as most visitors who have been here more than a few days.  Its simply a very pleasant place, and a middle income country, and the sex industry is something that is culturally normal here, as in most Asian countries, and only very rarely coercive.
