Inspired by a debate in the IRC chat.

He has an extreme hatred of the US, just about everything in US culture, and frequently refers to it as "The Bad Place", yet one could make a case for this.

Yes, you frequently find such people around the bad place. Of course I have my doubts his persona is real, but he's true in spirit.

Well I don't mind being described as 'a certain type of American'.

My Thai friends variously say 1) you're not at all American.  2) You are more Thai than I am (this is not meant as a compliment), 3) you're the anti-American American, and 4) ฝรั่ง ลาว.
