Elliot also has moral objections to attending such things as gaelic football games and gay pride parades.
Gaelic football games are dens of vice. Can't figure out the other objection... does he think there might be Catholic priests in attendance?

It would be terrible if this policy had an exception for if a human being was in the fire. That would create an incentive for poor people to stay in the house in order to save their property.

My late husband and I had an amazing sex life.  Without getting into detail, we would do things that would make your head spin.  I was satisfied not just sexually and spiritually, but also professionally, being blessed with the good fortune to star on a great TV show called Golden Girls.  After it ended and my husband passed on, I felt a real void in my life and turned to conservative talk radio for companionship.  I mindlessly became a rabid right-winger for a while screaming about that evil dung called Hubert Humphrey!  But now I have a resurgent career, a new show called Hot in Cleveland, new friends and I stopped listening to the radio.  My brain went back to normal within a week.

Perhaps you're right. I was worried about compromising the aesthetic quality of my post with giant red warnings strewn all over it, but maybe it's for the best in these dark* times.

*It is currently night-time where I live.

The Tea Party are idiots, but their policies have very little in common with the European far-right.

Their style on the other hand...an argument can be made fir that.

And that's the point. In any developped country, political movements with such a "style" are universally considered as trash by objective media sources. Why ? Because this is how they ought to be considered. American medias are biased, European medias are not.

And we're also less arrogant.

lulz, no.

Zack - Obama
Kelly - Probably Hillary in the primaries but wouldn't care much when she lost. Would care more about Obama winning the general.
Jessie - Hillary and would be bitter about it. Would come around to voting for Obama though.
Lisa - Obama
Slater - McCain
Screech - I can see him as a Ron Paul geek.
Mr. Belding - He wasn't actually that unreasonable or authoritarian even though he was sometimes implied to be such, so I doubt he had any right-wing authoritarian tendencies. So he'd probably be one of those education lobby Democrats, I bet he voted Obama both primary and general.

I used to hate Mr. Belding as a kid but realize now that any real life principal who let students get away with half of what he did would've been canned very quickly (not to mention that he ran a high school so lax students spent as much time talking in the hall as going to classes.)

1. The Bedford Incident
2. Das Boot
3. Crimson Tide
4. The Hunt for Red October

...which are all the submarine themed films I can think of that I've seen.

You? You from all the people? One of the most cultured people on Atlas? You never seen "Das Boot"?

Gully, you're an incredible dissapointment to the humanity.

Two points...
a. I'm not Gully. See my username for clarification on that.
II. I have seen Das Boot, hence why it's in the list and my saying that it's a list of all the submarine themed films I've seen.

Sorry, your avatar is confusing.

OK.
FTR, my avatar:

Gully's avatar:

IIRC I've pretty much alway maintained a green avatar, and Gully an orange one.

This entire exchange = Grin.

Whatīs even more amusing is that I actually havenīt seen Das Boot.

How much is tripod.com offering to donate in exchange for having its "image hosted by" image made the official state flag?

I didn't bother with that today because no one seemed to care either way in the past or even be aware of why. I didn't wear green of course. I do wonder if there are places where people would really freak out over this.

I just wanted to clarify that I don't see the profession of being a midwife as inherently evil.
