Let's just say that John McCain accepts John Kerry's offer to be his Vice-President. Bush keeps Cheney as the VP. How would the election have turned out? The same? Kerry win/landslide? I think the latter applies -

I've heard of him, but his impact among the Democratic base is way overrated. And I think you're underestimating how much many liberal Democrats wanted Bush voted out in 2004 no matter what.
