I'm very surprised by Watt's elimination: bad or good, his work was so influential on our societies !
But, surprises are good in survivors !

BTW, has anyone already decided on his favourite ?
Or even a top 5 ?

As for me, not at all... maybe I should before having regrets!

I tend to favor philosophers and writers over kings and prime ministers. But I don't have many other prejudices, besides being thrilled that Edison went home in the 1st round and Graham Bell in the 3rd.

Next on my hit list: Henry Ford, Wright Brothers, van Leeuwenhoek.

I really find group D uninspiring, while I'd want to save almost everybody in groups C and E...

I suspect a bad end for my favourites (or for those I have for the moment...)...

I don't think that the group D is so bad, but it is very difficult to build the different groups. When I made it I must split all conqueror, statesmen, founder of a religion, scientists, artists etc. and then i must look where they come from and when they lived. This wasn't easy.

Fab, when we down at 50 historical figures then we have only 2 groups and then you can eliminate all from the group D Wink

Oh, I didn't intend to criticize: you've done a fine and great job.
And the fact that only the Old Guard of survivors (and the Young one with homelycooking !) is voting is really fine, as we are out of any stupid hack.
So, it's really a relief and a pleasure to vote here (even though many current survivors are smoother and less partisan).

That's just what I see: in one group, I'm really uninspired. In 2 others, I'm already worried by all those lil' guys that I want to save Wink !

When I see "strong" votes in favour of Voltaire (this old anti-semitic guy, so fine with the leaders who fed him...) and Descartes (so boring and so overvalued), I'm a bit worried for my weird and quite irrational favourites Grin...
We'll see !
I just hope musicians (except one Wink) and astronomers will be competitive

I'm happy to have accomplished some of my objectives in this survivor. First i didn't really expect San Martin to last as long as he did and while he will probably be kicked out this round i was expecting him to go out during the first 3 rounds (especially considering that he almost didn't make it into the game Tongue).
The other objective was for him to finish higher than Bolivar, which was a success Grin

Constantine being ousted so early doesn't please me.
This is really one man of lasting influence.

It seems as if it'll be difficult for me to kill Descartes, Voltaire and Rousseau: in that order, they are really overvalued. My French parochialism is very limited... !
I'd like to kill Napoleon too, but he is of real influence, even if very, very bad outside (and completely mixed inside).

Meiji and Constantine in the same round, that's hard to swallow Tongue

Well, it's a very bad round... St Augustine's ousting is even worse than Moses.
And even if Edu saved Deng, it's at the price of Lincoln's elimination...
And Hammurabi is out !
My Godness...

A great round indeed ! Wink

I was joking when I said Edu would vote for Voltaire... just to have this good surprise !

Hans, I've already lost Deng, Giotto and Gorbachev, and Beethoven is threatened... So, I needed a good round ! Wink

You'll see that I support you on Ibn Khaldun. And, maybe soon, on Suleiman (though I'll try to attack Lavoisier before !)
