Siena polls are probably all we're going to get of this area - thing to remember is that Siena is crap pollster.

Another thing to remember is that this is Gillibrand's old district, according to the Siena crosstabs she still has a 63% approval rating in the district. So maybe her senate race being on the ballot will help Murphy?

Basically true but these numbers don't seem very unreasonable. Murphy is a pretty good fit for the district ideologically speaking (unlike Hall in NY-19) and he seems to have something of a joke opponent (unlike Hall again). That said, I did finally see a Murphy advertisement on television the other day and it was horrible (for the record).

Ive been phone banking for Murphy and surprisingly, many of the Republicans I called strongly supported him.

Good to see he'll probably be back in January. I've liked Murphy since the special election.

I have a friend who is a 20-year-old ''libertarian'' and registered Republican. He voted for Murphy in the special election and he plans to do so again in November.

To be fair, Tedisco was pretty horrific. Tongue Tedisco pulled a Martha Coakley before even Martha Coakley did it.

He'd have to do well with Republicans in order to have any shot at surviving; NY-20 has 60,000 more Republicans than Democrats.

He's moderate enough for NY-20 and don't forget, Cuomo, Gillibrand (of NY-20) and Schumer will probably be elected in landslides = coattails.

Scott and Owens in NY-23, two candidates who won special elections against the odds, will be defeated or re-elected together.

Not that is means anything, but I was up there (NY-20) in July, and I saw a lot of Gibson signs and very few Murphy signs.
