My post was no-where near delusional..

But it's funny how I have been personally attacked repeatedly for being a New Englander...  The last time I checked most of the social problems in this country have originated from the South, yet if you say something against Southerners then you are a New England elitist.

I agree with you on a lot of things, but if you allow yourself to resort to the same kind of argumentative technique you won't get a lot of respect. And all conspiracy-theories are delusional.

That's so ridiculous Gustaf I don't know where to begin.  All conspiracy theories are delusional?  In other words conspiracies don't exist.  If law enforcement thought the way you do half the mob would still be out on the streets.  What about watergate...  give me a break...  you take your pacifist nonsense too far.

'pacifist nonsense'? Hmmm...I'll admit that there like one in a million conspiracy theories that do come true...I thought that you with your fancy education would be aware of the ocncept of generalizations to argue a point, but apparently not...and I am not a pacifist, I can, for example, see that I'll have no problem with not being nice to you... The fact is many people think Rowland and Lieberman have cut a deal to keep their seats since they are both pretty crappy and unpopular within their own parties.

Lieberman is only popular because his pro-religion stands attract many republicans.  But I say, lets have a primary and see where the chips fall.  Democrats will realize he is far too conservative for Connecticut and choose someone else.  It's not like we need to worry about running centrists, Al Sharpton could win as a democrat in this state.

Lieberman's one of the few decent Democrat senators - besides Zell, Breaux, and Ben Nelson of Nebraska.

and it has a very right-wing Republican governor.)

Belated... and someone maybe said this (I'm too lazy to read all the posts), but... WTF?!?!?!?  Pawlenty is not... I repeat, not 'very right-wing'... if that was true he wouldn't last a second in the new centrist Minnesotan political climate.

Just my two cents.

I wonder, since this ranking was posted, have any of the states moved on the list?

No, he wasn't funny. He was an obnoxious idiot and most people here got tired of his curse word rants and Dave finally got fed up with him and banned his IP.

I didn't know he cursed a lot, or that he got banned. He's funny because he was so non-PC.

Many of his posts were removed by Mr Leip. Back then we had no language filter and most of his posts would be angry curse word rants at various southerners, republicans etc. Sort of along the lines of, I'll use you for a moment, "Cubby, all you are is a piece of trash fcuking moron, you're one dumb son of a b, you know that? Idiot". Yeah, he was that bad right before they banned him.

I'd say Vermont, Minnesota, and the entire Northwestern U.S. have improved. The South has probably gotten worse.

Rural areas though have generally improved versus urban areas. In most parts of the country, the rural trend away from the Democrats peaked around 2000.

It would be interesting to see a revised list.

Also, is there any particular formula involved (and if so, what is it), or is it more subjective?

I forget the exact formula, but I think it was a mix of presidential voting results, the governors, and the breakouts of the state legislatures.

I would say Utah is more Republican these days than Idaho, not by much though.
