I made predictions regarding 55 counties that were close Gore in 2000 that I predicted would go Bush in 2004.  Well, as it turns out, 31 of those predictions were wrong, while 24 were right.  I was generally pleased, as I made that list on the assumption of a landslide.  I didn't know I would get half those counties right in a close election.  My original post appeared back in the 2004 U.S. Pres. Election board.  Search for "counties", with my username, and in that board and you will find it.  So here's the list.  I think it serves as a good guide as sort of a mini-swing county analysis.

I made predictions of 5 from Bush to Kerry:

Fairfax, VA
Blue Earth, MN (my home county)
Ocean, NJ
Travis, TX
Guilford, NC

Got 4/5. Ocean actually went much far heavily for Bush.

I just looked up the previous thread on this.

I have to give Blue Rectangle credit, all of his predictions for Colorado counties were correct.

Nailed that one.

LOL.  Of course it would.  Bush would have to do something really crazy to not win that one.
