Seriously, if you're going to rig Survivor results, don't even bother hosting. Go into the appropriate forum and start a thread about how Vatican City/George H. W. Bush/Reagan-Bush is the greatest European Country/Vice-President/Republican Presidential Ticket ever, and stop wasting everyone's time and energy.

lol i saw the republican tickets survivor.

There was a reason i stopped voting in his threads. If he is willing to manipulate and make up votes to let his favorite keep going and then when confronted with it just deletes the thread then i was sure that it was bound to happen again, or at least something similar.

And this is all the more amusing considering that in the VP survivor i repeated lots of times that i tried to oust Bush in an effort to oust every president and keep a real list of people who were only vice presidents, I thought it would be more interesting. I didn't do it because i hate Bush or whatever the hell the guy thought i was doing, i actually consider Bush one of the better republican presidents in the 20th century.

I come here to have a little fun, which i guess is the point of this subforum, apparently some people don't understand that and act in a pathetic way. I stopped posting in his threads and it's much better Smiley

lol, the guy deleted the UK labor leaders thread when i was writing a final post. I guess i will put it there then

Yep, deleting an entire thread that was halfway done when one of you favorites is voted off is a "simple action". In terms of real life it is indeed a simple action and i don't think that in the end people keep thinking in it after they log off the forum. But games need some kind of rules to function properly and in good fun and then what you did wasn't a simple action.

But i agree with you on one thing, we should stop talking about it. I would advise people who are annoyed with what you did to stop posting in your threads. This way we can concentrate on the survivors we like and you can continue with yours with no problem.
So this will be the last time i bring this up in your threads, you won't here a peep from me Smiley[/quote]

tb75 should be banned from creating survivors. It's crystal clear he can't manage one. He also should go back to preschool apparently.

I agree, and I find it really sad that things have reached this point over a game.

It's a shame, really. His survivors were rather interesting and were well managed until he started cheating and throwing a hissy fit.

"WAAAH! My favorite candidate lost! I don't wanna play anymore!" Real mature...

But that's enough trolling. I have more important things to do.

My friends, maybe I'm a bit "liberal" on this, but I don't want to "ban" someone because of mismanagement of survivors or because of cheating.
After all, some forms of treachery are harder to detect... Wink Some "special" rules can hide a way to influence people. Some delays may be shorter than Libertas' ones, but, still, they can be a subtle way to cheat. Etc.

And, well, I've myself stuffed the ballot box in the World Leaders Survivor in 2009 by PMing other forumers, with some success Cheesy (BUT just after Hughento allowed to do it, I must give this precision Grin)

But what I don't want to do is taking BIG measures, setting BIG rules, just because of Libertas and tb75 behaving as if we were in primary school.
When you set rules only for a particular case, that always backfires, one way or another.

Don't forget that even Al, afleitch, Kal, Ernest have dropped their or some of their survivor(s), which makes it difficult for me to decide what to do (now the rule is stricter, because of Libertas: 50 days after the last update by managers, the survivor is free to be resumed or restarted by another one).

What I can do, on the contrary, is allowing someone who wants to manage the SAME survivor to do it just after tb75 stops his own.

But, here, don't forget that, if the survivor is entirely deleted, you can restart it without any problem. That was already the case for the Vice Presidents survivor.
And it's OK for Labour party leaders also.

It's still a game and I don't want to "ban" someone in this sub-board, provided he abides by Dave's rules and by my general rules. After that, everybody is free to manage as he wants his own survivors.

The best thing to do is boycotting. I haven't done it soon enough, but now, I'll do it myself Wink. This is the best way to react.

Vazdul, jdb:

I've allowed myself to retitle your survivors, which are the only "legitimate" ones now: US VPs and UK party leaders.

Guys, I've updated the list of survivors that are now available to be resumed or entirely restarted, due to the fact that their managers haven't updated them for more than 50 days.

Many US or controversial ones are now available.

But please remember that August isn't a good period for high turnout.

Well, given the rules, it's a different survivor than "US Presidents survivor", so you can do it.

Wartime would be more interesting Wink.

Thanks, but I do have a question.

Should Eisenhower, Kenndey, Ford, Reagan and Clinton be counted as wartime?

Also, when do I start?

You start when you want.

For the list, it's up to you.
When is there a war in the US ? When there is a declaration of war ? When there is a UN mandate ? When there are military operations somewhere ? It's a great and real law problem ! Wink
It's as you define it.
Of course, you can make it as large as possible, but maybe not too much, because it would look like a usual US presidents survivor.
Maybe you can make the list, but with a recall (in brackets, beside each president's name) of all the operations and real wars in which the US where involved during each president's term, so that forumers vote regarding the "war" at stake and not just with the name of each president.

It seems as if I have some time to lose... My Godness, I must stop this...

Anyway, guess what ? With only 7 voters, we make 55.5% of this board !
Shame on you !

BBF: 15.3%
Hans: 9.3%
Edu: 7.3%
Hashemite: 6.9%
Kalwejt: 6.4%
Nhoj: 5.7%
Gully: 4.6%

With officepark (2%), Hughento (1.5%), xyz (1.3%), we are above 60% !

And I don't know the numbers for Xahar, Al and Lewis because they post too much everywhere.
I haven't looked the nhumbers of Sewer and Rochambeau, tbh. Libertas is at 1.1%.
Maybe Tmth, NiK, GMantis and Disraeli may have some points, too.

Beware, many old survivors of 2009 aren't (yet) in this board, notably Hughento's World Leaders Survivor. It might be "worse", actually, with these threads Grin.

All of this has evolved a bit:

we've got the Old Guard, those crazy and frenzied voters, who are in the forum mainly to vote, vote and vote again:
BBF: 13.81 %
Edu: 8.31 %
Hans: 8.28 %
Nhoj: 5.36 %
Jarl: 0.58%

And the Young Guard, those more recent voters who are growing fast and who are also here mainly to vote, vote and vote again:
Mr. X (xyz, jdb): 4.26 % (we really hope he hasn't disappeared forever, as he was about to be included in the Old Guard)
Vazdul: 2.60 % (and rising fast)
Magic 8-Ball: 2.20 % (and rising very fast)
tb75: 1.51 %
homelycooking: 0.68 % (but a very, very promising recruit !!)

We've got the Hall of Wise Ancients, those who vote a lot, but who know life is also elesewhere inside the forum:
Hashemite: 5.63 %
Kalwejt: 5.11 % (we're a bit sad as he is a bit far away, now)
Antonio V: 2.95 %
PiT: 2.87 % (but he no longer takes part in our lunacies)
Hughento (platypus): 2.44 %
officepark (True Conservative): 2.22 %

We've got a Hord of Outsiders, with no coherence among them (at all ! Grin), but able to vote a lot, sometimes:
Gully Foyle: 1.87 %
Libertas: 1.85 %
Sewer Socialist (SpaceCommunistMutant): 1.77 %
GMantis: 1.10 %
Bunwah (Benoît): 0.43 %
Lewis, Al, Xahar, afleitch, Rochambeau, Tmth, Earl, dead0man, Ernest, jbrase belong also to this category (sorry, guys, for mixing you all !), but I don't have the numbers as they post "too much" everywhere and as statistics only include the first 10 boards of each forumer.

We are above 50% with only 7 forumers: BBF, Edu, Hans, Hash, Kal, Nhoj and Mr.X.

It's a pity we don't have a complete statistics, spread by board and sub-board.
Totally useless I know, but so funny Wink.

Everything's fine, but since I was just starting my first year of college, I figured I should have my attention focused on that rather than the internet until I "found my footing", but thanks Smiley

My next idea is a Brazilian presidential contenders survivor, including all elections post-1945 (excluding cancelled elections) and all candidates winning over 1% of the vote (or maybe all candidates winning over 1% of the vote and/or being a major party candidate; if only because I want to include Aureliano "ingrown toenail" Chaves)

Fabien; any recommendations for this? Is now a good time to start it up?
