CNN/Time/Opinion Research

Miller (R): 38%
Murkowski (I): 36%
McAdams (D): 22%

Someone else is going to have to input it

How was the poll conducted?

i.e. Did they initially mention "write in Lisa Murkowski" as an option?

Yes, they did.

If the election for U.S. Senate were held today and the candidates were Scott McAdams, the Democrat
and Joe Miller, the Republican, who would you be more likely to vote for or would you write in the
name of Lisa Murkowski, who is also running?

That would be very humorous if Murkowski actually won as a write-in.

So even when the pollsters give Murkowski a major game-changing advantage she won't have on the real election day, she still loses.

It's quite possible. She's only down by two points.

I'm sorry, but I find this poll unlikely at best and impossible at worst.  I've seen no one "in the know" who gives Murkowski a snow ball's chance in a very hot spot.  She is not going to be treated as a normal candidate.  Her name won't be listed anywhere.  At least Crist's name is going to appear 16th on the ballot, but Murkowski's will be no where.

I think the best comparison to this race is Shelly Sekula-Gibbs in 2006.  She actually won the special election to fill Delay's seat, but lost the full term that appeared on the same ballot.  Why?  Her name wasn't on the ballot and she ran as a write-in.  People are going to go in there, see the race for Senate, and choose between Miller and McAdams.
