They actually had a fair amount of people, the crowd was estimated to be about 100,000.

I didn't see anywhere close to that in the pics.

Congrats, dude. Your merry band of fascists is better at being told when and where to have giant rallies by Fox News.

This is the best leftists can come up with? It obviously pales in comparison to the Tea Party, and is doomed to continue to do so in the current political climate.

I'm not impressed with leftist protests in the US until they start looking like the ones in France.

That wasn't very impressive.

They brought in the (basically pointless) old "Anti War" groups that aren't anti war anymore (EG. ANSWER), the so-called "Equality" groups, a whole bunch of unions, and effectively the entire Communist Party (Yes, the Communist Party of America was backing the rally), and got around 10-20% of what the Beck rally brought in.

Indeed.. it was a rather weak showing.

Theirs no momentum or enthusiasm on the left at the moment, so its not exactly surprising.

Fascists, eh, Lief? Guess it takes one to know 'em.

(P.S. Fox News can kiss my jolly ass, for the record.)

Actually, the suprising thing (for me anyway) was how open they were about their far-left ideology.  Usually these kind of rallies draws out the "Progressives" i.e. the people who push socialism but don't like being called socialists.  These guys were actively parading about their not only socialist but communist sympathies.

Most "progressives" don't really push much socialism in the least, sir, but this debate has been done to death. I'll gladly take it up again if you wish though.

On the second point, its really not that unusual to get that type of thing where I live, but I live in a quite radical area in general.

It does, its just very cut off from the real world and mainly based around small bookstores in college towns. Its almost non-existent compared to the far-left in some countries, but its alive.. albeit likely in permanent recession since the collapse of the Soviet Union.

One Nation, eh? I guess ripping off the name of an Australian far-right party for your march is always an excellent idea. Azn

"A Liberal Tea Party remedy has now been formed"

Referencing that gathering as having anything at all to do with "Tea party[ing]" is laughably ignorant and a gross misuse of the term "tea party," not to mention an oxymoron.

Today's modern Liberal movement (with its fringe communist, socialist, fascist leanings) has little if nothing to do with the original "tea partiers."

The obvious difference is that the tea parties were a real grassroots uprising, whereas as this "liberal tea party" is a true astroturf movement. That easily explains the difference in numbers.

The only people who showed up to this were apparently the people told to by their unions and/or the race-baiters like Al Sharpton. Those two groups are both quite experienced in manufacturing fake protests.
